53rd Grammy Awards: Eminem Leads With 10 Nominations

53rd Grammy Awards Eminem Leads With 10 Nominations
Eminem’s recent album, “Recovery” propelled the star to new heights after he received 10 nominations for the upcoming 53rd Grammy Awards. His nominations include the album, record and artist of the year awards. Those are the most cherished awards.
The nominations were announced from the Club Nokia in Los Angeles on CBS. The hour-long event saw performances by stars like Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, teenager Justin Bieber, Train and Miranda.
Eminem is having a great year with the “Recovery” album. Currently, the album which has sold some three million copies so far is the best selling album of the year. The breakthrough is truly good for the artist because he had been struggling with his career until this year. The last time that the artist’s work was nominated for the album of the year was in 2000 when his album, “The Marshall Mathers LP” achieved that feat.
Other artists like Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum and Jay-Z all received six nominations for their works. It however seems that Lady Gaga and Eminem will have to battle the album of the year award out. Lady Gaga had the same nomination last year.
Youngster, Justin Bieber was also nominated for best new artist award. The 16-year-old has had a tremendous year this year winning four AMA awards.
